Investment specialist Rob Spencer has joined the rapidly-expanding Wales-based leading financial planning services team of Seer Green.
His appointment takes the number of people in the business to 10, just two years after it was launched.
Rob, who began his career in financial services with Barclays Bank almost 40 years ago, not only specialises in investment markets, but has wide experience in the residential and commercial lending sectors as well as corporate and private protection policies, business and tax planning and the pensions market.
After moving into financial management with Barclays 20 years ago, he led a team of 12 financial advisers and was responsible for the direct management of the South Wales Area Bank based mortgage teams with annual targets in excess of £50 million. For the last 10 years he has operated as an Independent Financial Adviser.
Rob said: “The financial services sector is entering a very exciting phase in its history, with major changes already underway in pensions provision and the introduction in the new year of a change in the way financial advice is given to the public.
“The delivery of impartial and expert financial advice has never been more relevant and important to people in properly planning and managing their investments, savings and retirement strategy.
“I am looking forward to the challenge of being a part of a Seer Green team of financial strategists that in a very short time has earned a well-deserved reputation for providing expert and sound financial advice.”
Married, with three grown-up children, Rob lives in Beaufort. He ran the London Marathon for the first time at the age 52, raising more than £2,000 for Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice.
Seer Green director and co-founder Siobhan Mail said: “Rob is an important addition to the team, possessing a great deal of experience across the board in all areas of financial planning. He will be a key asset to our business, particularly with the introduction in the new year of the FSA’s Retail Distribution Review, which will change the way in which financial advice is provided.”
Founded at the end of 2010, Seer Green has built up a portfolio of clients across Wales and over the border into England. The business is based at the Celtic Springs Business Park, on the outskirts of Newport.
